God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. John 4:24
Unrestrained, free from inward and outward influence, people, selfish boundaries, free from mind and flesh, but lead by the spirit - IN SPIRIT.
Worship reaches God when it is pure, with no lies, no pretending, and knowing to the extent that one can understand who he is in Christ - IN TRUTH.
John 4:24 God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
Before man, we can put up a facade and get by. God doesn't look at that, but He sees our hearts. The worship we give Him must be free of any influence. Why would He receive it otherwise or enjoy it? He can't, or rather will not. Without faith, it's impossible to please Him, Hebrews 11:6 says. Faith here means trusting and letting go, giving Him all. Worship is loving on the one who redeemed us, who set us free - the one who sustains us, our provider, healer, and king! Worship the Lord in spirit in truth!
Spontaneous worship is naturally led by the Holy Spirit or a heart of thanksgiving. But what about corporate worship on Sunday mornings? I start church before I get there, preparing my heart for worship while dressing, while driving, and when entering the house of the Lord. It makes such a difference!
